It's that radio readjustment time of the year

Will all of those DJ's still with their previous stations please raise their hands? Captain Dan, Paul, nice to see ya.

So, the entire staff at KVUU (99.9 FM) got switched to the old KDZA (107.9 FM), some Arizona jocks get the KVUU morning shift in their first out-of-state syndication deal. The Beat brings in a syndicated morning show. Cat Country revamps everything but the mornings. Russ Johnson's out at KVOR in the afternoons.

I'm probably missing something somewhere.

Coincidence? The latest Arbitrons? Just that time of year? Some combination of those, I think.

KDZA, by the way, showed up in the last Arbitron book, but way down the list. I'm actually surprised it didn't do better, since it appeared in the Springs book even when it was officially a Pueblo station and didn't have a city grade signal up here.

We'll see if Clear Channel gives it a promotional push now that they've staffed it up.

And whither KVUU? Is this a prelude to a format change, or is just a readjustment?

wow i like it...clear channel is making some moves --but Cat wins the afternoons now with wingnut--dude is a real talent..KVUU has been a "HUH?" station for a long time now, so who knows what is happening there. VOR needs to amp it up..losing to KRDO in the mornings? are you kidding me? they need a jolt of personality there.

KDZA still has signal problems. Good luck hearing it at Chapel Hill.

I can't get 107.9 except on my car radio.

Too bad, because the syndicated morning dudes now on KVUU are boring - I have officially stopped listening to that station.

KVUU has evolved into a CHR/Pop station. Musically its better than what it was last year.

Darren & Coba are a better fit on Jet 107.9. Even since KDZA tweeked their Classic Hits format they have been making inroads into CS. KDZA-FM always did have a good signal going into CS since they signed on back in 1987 as KRYT-FM. Before KSPZ (now KKPK) went Classic Hits/Oldies KRYT acually did a 3 share. Clear Channel now is trying to get a Classic Hits presence in the market which KKPK kind of left behind.

The best time ever for KVUU was when they went through their entire music library alphabetically back in 2004 or 2005. There was actually some variety instead of hearing the same song every couple of hours. I didn't realize the morning show had switched to a different station. I've just given up on radio and listen to the iPod instead.
