KXRM open post
Chime in with any thoughts about either my story on KXRM/Channel 21's newscast, or what you'd like to see the new kids on the block do or not do.
And, although this post bumps the Hal Kennedy obit, stop for a second and remember one of the giants in Colorado Springs television. Really, maybe the giant.

I'm happy to hear that the new newscast won't be doing the live shot in front of the closed building. That's a major pet peeve of mine.
I also hope they stick to local news. I don't understand why the local news stations cover so much national news. If I want national news, I'll turn to CNN or Fox.
And sports is not news! My ultimate pet peeve is when a station (KOAA, I'm looking at you) leads off the newscast with the Broncos game.
I'm happy also that joe cole bought those pani p2 models. Then those big hulky dvc-pros that " most" of the three tv nets have in colorado springs. But i think that those tv cams reminds me of these cheap cable tv outlets that i remember way back in 1980s..and no more tv production people at fox 21 needed any more. I guess..thats progress. no more people needed! dont even apply .with 250 resumes and mr cole didnt even advetise the positions and i dont even put my app there.. that my opinion ,at least koaa-tv had an ad there for people..
my opinion, the jury is still out on the "new" fox 21 on monday night.il still watch the others three networks on monday night like my kktv.
Good luck with watching that mykktv garbage. You must work over at kk. The ratings for mynetwork acrossed the nation are landing in the category of dashes and ones. Can't even get a clear picture locally.
well, with those pani p2 .they are all right for industrial uses. and with those darn things.they cant change out lenses on those. most of the tv krdos and the others have dvcpros full-sized. Are they going to in hurry dump them for those tv cams..NO Way! and no, im not with mykk tv. i told my cable company to dump the channel for me
well see. if the video qualities on that "fox 21 news @ nine " suffers. i hope not. but i woundt touch small dv cams..NOOOOO WAYS..they in the mean time have to ask j cole boss for more money..

KXRM is definately doing this on the cheap... but let's face it, whoever does the best job with the smoke and mirrors wins. If KXRM can convince people they are the best, they will continue to draw in viewers no matter how stingy they are being with staff and resources.

and so does the other networks too .i suppose.look at krdo and the rest, now,im not knocking kxrm 21 news .i think they should have a chance. but what did mr steve dant said there gets me kind of mad there he goes on to say that . he has a lot of money to spend . and i think that my opinion.right im sorry i maybe wrong but i think kxrm STINKS! there.
IF the biggest story on that day in sports...sports should lead. If weather is the big news story of the day, weather should lead. If 10 people get botulism for whatever reason, consumer stories should lead. This reasoning that a newscasts should be stacked news/weather/sports in that order every single night regardless of story importance is OLD TV thinking! Newspapers do this all the time (biggest story gets the main headline) and it's about time TV caught up.
Lets face it KKTV wanted to focus on their digtial channel which is the main reason why they discontinued their news partership with KXRM. Sure KXRM has their work cut out for them. However KKTV allowed Stephanie and Terry to move to KXRM. Joel Cole does not count since he servered his ties with KKTV last year.
Since KXTU-LP got The CW affliation KKTV had to go with MyNetwork TV for their second channel.
yes , i tried to call the tv kktv and i got one of the engineers to tried to explain my problem with my kktv. he wanst that helpful . while i did that. I called my cable company comcast and explained to them and they cut the channel out.pretty great huh.
its my hope to see koaa-tv 5/ 30 gets new studio cams . they are running for 10yrs ikegamis hk-343s . i hope with this new tv station will bring in compettion in this tv market. they need it also.but mini dv with panisonic p2?? heck. better off with ikegami or sony. thats a lot of people trying to get into tv as a reporter or production at kxrm21 .250 resumes wow..and he didnt even advertise the positions..im better off being in electronics than this..
for all the hoopla about technology, it looks pretty low budget. Nice rip-off of the KKTV "look" on the rundown slug super
