MacMullan headed to CW2
Just chatted with former KRDO/Channel 13 "Good Morning Colorado" anchor Kellie MacMullan. She's had the past two weeks off and says she's been getting more sleep than she has in four years.
That ends next week, when she starts as a reporter and fill-in anchor for CW2's morning news up in Denver. Comcast carries CW2 on Channel 22, so if you're a Mac fan, you can still watch her. Her first day on air should be Thursday, when she'll be filling in on the anchor desk.
"I loved Colorado Springs," Mac said. "It’s been a great, great time to be here. I want to tell everybody, 'Thank you for watching.'"

Good news for viewers, bad news for all the Colorado Springs stations. More people will now choose CW2 over 13, 5/30, 11 and FOX21.

i didnt like her with krdotv ..she looks a vulcan.. im sorry.but my family wont watch her in denver..i just dont care for her anyways.good luck to her in denver,co..
Actually CW2 won't be available much longer in the Springs. They were allowed on cable when they were the WB but now that they are CW there is already a CW in the Springs so they will be phased out. Plus, there is no value to a Denver news product in the Springs and their ratings clearly show it. People who live in Southern Colorado watch the local stations, not Denver. Ratings tell this story! Good luck to Kellie though.

I watch the first few minutes of the Springs stations and if there is no substantial news, switch to the Denver stations for a better presentation.

The new woman on KRDO is Heather Skold. And before you go ranting on and on about local stations not hiring local talent, Heather is from Haxtun, Colorado. Her previous market was Boise, which you have already indicated you hate, but before that it was Grand Junction. As Andy reported in the Gazette, she'll be anchoring the 5 p.m. newscast. And if Haxtun isn't local enough for you, the aforementioned Nicole Darin is a UCCS grad and went to Coronado High School in Colorado Springs.
Anna Jensen left KRDO for family and medical reasons.
Ty Shesky went to KOB in Albuquerque.

again , i dont hate anyone. anon #1 where did u get that idea?u seem like a nice person , but i have to say that .like to see some one from this area from colorado springs and pueblo.like whats wrong with that??i even saw an ad from the local tv station here.that they are hiring for tv cameraman after what i said in this blog. otherwise the tv news directors would hire out of town.i dont like that. do you??
again, im just glad to see people from colorado come over here.!.but again may i point out that just like the new people ..from idaho andy from koaa and heather from krdo .they came from idaho.right??hmm thats interesting .there is people from colorado springs like p.p.c.c.broadcasting labs with teacher wendy macdonald from kktv in the 1970s..they should have a chance here also.. for jobs..in colorado springs.ty was great forecaster sorry to see him go..and nina from krdo is cool too.

haha, john carroll just did the slip of the tongue...he was reporting on the story of the Utah trapped miners, when he said the owner of the mine was going to drill another BOLE WHORE. He meant to say HOLE BORE into the mountain...he didn't even flinch...guess no one caught it except for me...for you tivo's out there, it was the 5pm newscast today, 8/27 about 5:10 to 5:15 timeframe...sure was a tongue twister!

Denver is SO lucky to get Kellie. A hometown girl, especially one with a career that is limitless, is such a prize. Beyond the fact that she is talented beyond her years, she is sure fun to look at.
Limitless career potential is right! Kellie will have a long, prosperous, and prominent career in Denver, whether it's in TV or not. Many years down the line she and we will look back on her time at KRDO as just a little blip on the way to the top. She is someone you want to know... because she's going places!

Channel 13 certainly isn't known for having stars but Kelly was the reason most people watched. Everyone I talk to says they watch because of her or Jon Carrol. He's very smooth and seems to be a very nice guy. Kelly is young and pretty and a real wise ass, so she was interesting to watch. Who is going to replace her? Is Zach going to stay there or will he move on, too?
most of the people responding to this blog ..are probabily krdo tv personaities ..i myself didnt was fond of her for some reason.maybe im the only one here expressing my opinoins about her..that what i like about america .. not to be short sighted about kelli . but i just dont like also mike brookbank/kxrmtv .i just watch robin and company on cnn dude ..im sorry that this has to become a one sided deal.there has to be others who want to express an opinion here also like me a local tv viewer.i Have the frieckin guts to say it here..and i dont spit venom to mean people here..

thats why i hate to see the outsourcing of tv talent here. in colorado springs..new kristin clark /koaa tv sucked, she said that " there was no rain"in the forecast .well kristin there was..a lot of rain at my house. ben legg/krdotv was right there. great forecaster indeed.i wished that ms clark get her act together.and i dont bother looking or watching at these local tv stations like kxrm, kcnc,kwgn tv etc. they boore me to death.this town has too many tv stations to watch
So what's your solution, Daddio? Hire EXCLUSIVELY locals who have only lived in Southern Colorado their entire lives? Only those who grew up here, went to school here, went to the colleges here, and then hire them the day after college graduation? I assure you that you'd be greatly disappointed at the results if stations did that.

Stations across the country are notoriously lazy about getting bios posted for their new hires. She's there and has been reporting and even anchoring the past few days.
Whats bad for the Springs is Goooood for Denver. Kellie is a pure joy!!

I don't think Nicole Darin got fired... I heard she's working as a sports anchor out in Minnesota. I don't think she is rude at all!!! I met her once when she was out covering snow storms and she was an absolute sweetheart!
