Idol seven gets 86'd

Hmmm. This is sort of a trainwreck. I mean, I know it' supposed to be a trainwreck, but not in this way.

The talk before the season was that "Idol" had corrected last season's problems and we'd get to know the contestants. Yeah, OK, but not in this round.

Do we really need five minutes of the Grace Slick girl? Or even five minutes of the heartwarming mom with the kid with cerebral palsy? I mean, it gets to be like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Keep it moving, folks. Nothing to see here. Show the freaks, show the good stuff and keep it rolling!

It shows the contestants don't listen to the judges comments. (glitter queen)
Test now, know what works before the real talent search begins

We watched the first few seasons but haven't bothered in some time. Like Rock Star (on CBS) much more.

I mean... why bother anymore? Voting is obviously rigged in some manner, not the by show mind you, but by the wonderful hackers out there. That, or America's "taste" - and I use that word lightly since most American's lost their taste a long time ago - sucks, because they can't pick $*@#. Who was last year's winner? Where is she now? Haven't heard a peep from her. Who was the winner the year before? The gray haired guy... what's his name? Hell, if his own record label drops him (and it did) ya know somethings amiss. Daughtry was the best, as evidenced by his #1 selling album of 2007, and where did he place? Zactly.

Idol had some degree of legitimacy (Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughty). Now... it's just a parody.

Eli is right, Idol is a parody. The judges don't listen for talent but look to see if the person can be marketed.
Taylor Hicks was in trouble when I saw the biography on sale last Summer. Idol talent is supposed to be about one who can sing. Stories belong in Readers Digest.
