OK, now this local news competition thing has gone too far

Three of our four locals are covering Gov. Ritter's State of the State address live. "As the World Turns" fans are no doubt up in arms.

Most years, the president's State of the Union is barely newsworthy. I would be aghast if there was anything in Ritter's speech that was worth more than a soundbite. Right now he's talking about how good the skiing is here.

At least KOAA punted it to WeatherFirstNow.

UPDATE: Now he's talking about "Keeping Colorado's special places special." Good to know.

I agree with AW, people who are home all day seem to be there because they're home-makers, or out of work, and are sitting watching soaps all day. They're not exactly new junkies who are sitting at their TV all day waiting for some live press conference. All they care about is if their favorite amnesia induced incestual soap star is gonna tell their enemy that they slept with their husband who is also their cousin. They dont care about press conferences. If they did they would watch it at 5. They just want to watch their show in peace, and not have to worry about if their show is gonna get interupted by Fisher DeBerry retiring.
