Kidnapped gone

How bad does a show have to be to get kicked off of Saturday nights?

I'm the one that liked "Kidnapped" way better than "Vanished," so it's not like I'm dancing on its grave. But still, getting pulled from Saturday night is like getting canceled before the first episode ever airs. What is NBC going to put on in its spot, static? (Actually, Law & Order repeats).

Ouch!

Except it wasn't bad. In fact, it was one of the best new shows out there. It was jut too complex for the average mindless couch potato.

This is one very bizarre season. It started out being one of the best and has turned horrific in an instant. Every GOOD show is either getting pulled after 3 episodes or moved to other days and then canned; while crap is still on and others that also can't find an audience are getting held on to ONLY because studio execs are favoring them for some insane reason (Studio 60, Lights, Men in Trees).

Oh, and then there's the sheep of humanity who sit drooling with gleefully glazed over eyes as they watch the likes of "Dancing with the (!@&#*%) Stars" like zombies.

(sigh)

Yea I tend to agree. The three shows are loved buy the execus espcially 60 since that is from the creator of "The (Left) Wing."

Eliteism at its best.

DWTS is the number one show with audiences 50+. No surprise since ballroom dancing was hip when they were young...maybe not nesscary when they were kids but their parents were more into it. I take Stars over American Idol anyday.

What shows did you like Eli. The only Freshmen show I watched that is on its way out is Vanished, and I might choose "1 vs 100" over it.

Hey Don... my wife and I watch too much! Thank God for DVRs! ;)

Here's a brief list: The Shield, 24, Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Heroes, The Unit, The Office, CSI (just the original), Criminal Minds, Shark, Las Vegas, Medium, Prison Break, Jericho, Survivor and The Amazing Race (both of which are starting to lose their appeal after so many years). Looking forward to "Day Break," the fill in for "Lost" on ABC with Taye Diggs.

I'm not sure I buy that the only people watching "Dancing" are those over 50+. Why? Last I checked, that demo didn't matter. It's the all powerful 18-49 group, which is an idiotic demo range anyway. the last time I checked an 18 year old had NOTHING in common with a 49 year old. Or 29 and 39 year olds for that matter. How they can lump that big a range into one demo is beyond me.

Besides, I just harp on "Dancing" because it's just one of MANY MANY MANY "reality TV" shows that are wholly brainless beyond comprehension. ;)
