Weightism?
I just saw this on the Fox Web site, and I have no idea what it's about. Although I can guess.
STATEMENT FROM ‘AMERICAN IDOL IN RESPONSE TO INSINUATIONS OF RACISM AND/OR WEIGHTISM
"Without wishing to add to the obvious self-promotion of Ms. O'Donnell, I feel as though I must refute her absurd and ridiculous claims that AMERICAN IDOL is racist and/or weightist."Ms. O’Donnell has, once again, spoken without thought or knowledge. Viewers need only look at the show tonight to realize that AMERICAN IDOL constantly confirms to America that talent has
nothing to do with weight or color." Nigel Lythgoe, Executive Producer, AMERICAN IDOL

Just in general - I think Simon on Idol is pretty candid about "looks" being part of the "Idol Package"...
He makes comments on wardrobe, hair, etc... Even Paula - when she can't find other fluff to say about a perfomance says "you look great!"...
V - the allegation is that when a large black woman contestant was found to have posed for topless photos (prior to being a contestant) she was booted from the show (several seasons ago). This season a thin white woman contestant has been exposed for having posed for risque photos, the producers have allowed her to continue in the contest.
the large black woman was paid for the photos and did so on a professional website. the thin white woman posed for a boyfriend in pictures that were leaked and more importantly she was NOT paid.
Big difference.

Funny I have the total opposite take on the same situation.
Frenchie was a struggling actress/performer who professionally posed for some photos for a website. Antonella is an exhibitionist (posing with in public, with other women and IN PUBLIC holding another woman's breast...). To me being a professional model (topless or not) is more respectable than being a narcisistic (sp) wanna-be, like Antonella.
