Is the Carey right?

In last week's TV Talk, I reviewed Drew Carey's debut as the host of "The Price Is Right."

That premiere is airing right now on KKTV/Channel 11. So if you have any thoughts on Drew's debut, post a reply up here.

I saw the first 15 minutes and it seems like Drew Carey was a bit nervous. Women contestants keep saying I Love You, no matter which host it is, but Drew's response is I LIKE YOU...I will keep watching to see if he improves or not. According to the USA TV critic's corner: " there's a good chance 'PRICE' fans will be equally pleased".

Drew is a bit nervous cause he knows that his role is big and Bob Barker carried it for years.

This is not like 'Power of 10' in which Drew established himself well in the role of that respected show.

They are two different animals no doubt. I'd rather have Drew Carey hosted TPIR over Brad Garrett or Rosie O'Donald.

Too back Marc Summers was not in the runing. Summers may be known for the childrens game show Double Dare (not to be confused with the Double Dare from the 1970's) but I read an interview done with Summers and he looked up to Barker.

Comments about the Second episode of the Drew Carey era of TPIR.

He is starting to make himself at home. He is settling down, and I don't see the first show jitters.

He has own style, by no doubt. So far he is not quite the smart alec as Barker but that part or whatever you want to call it was part of Barker's stichk.

I kind of like the set. Not an extreme makeover which for an established show is great. Keep it in the 1970's but give it a retro-future look (like the Sonic Drive In's do).

Allthough their were cosmetic changes during the Barker era (The 'turntable' area and the three doors themselves had noticable changes. The mic was changed because the old one that Barker used for a long time finally gave out), I heard that the lights and the the green lining on the doors were more/less untouched during the entire Barker era.

I am sure Carey will carry on TPIR. They should look into a few prime time special and runs too. I think TPIR still has lasting power than 'Power of 10' but 10 still has gas in the tank. Great replacement for Kid Nation.

i also saw drew c. on the 2nd episode .He came without the old stuffiness of old bob barker. give it time for drew c. look at mr barker in the 1971 when the first tpir came out .there was no internet or blogs to attack people. you had mainly four tv stations here and only 36 channels on the oak set-top boxes that cablevision had with jeff talbert . i think that drew c. was great and the wireless mic deal was great also..

Drew Carey will do the "Price" in style. Of course he will not take barker's place but he will do it his style and not Rosie O'Donald.
