Sawyer to replace Gibson

Charlie Gibson is retiring and Diane Sawyer will step behind the anchor desk.

My question: What does this mean for KRDO?
I think no change is good change for network news, which is clearly heading toward its last roundup. It will, nevertheless, be interesting to watch Sawyer's ratings relative to Couric and Brian Williams.

Might be a good move. Always liked Diane, from WAY back. Probably had a crush on her. Like pretty lady news anchors. Eye candy is good PROVIDED they are competent. I believe Diane fits that description. Don't always agree with her points of view but she's good. Yes, she's getting on in years, though handling it very well. She shares a birth year/birth month with me. Nearly, I think, a birth "day" though not sure of the date. The move will, indeed, be judged by the ratings of the ladies versus each other and Brian. Time will tell.

Additional thought, slightly off topic, but about lady anchors. KRDO needs to get a lady along side Zach now they've bumped him to weekends. REALLY miss Jen and Vida. Zach is a competent anchor but needs a lovely "bookend" to complement and add spice. Hope the KRDO execs are working on it.
